This research is conducted as part of my dissertation, which is non-commercial in nature.
This survey seeks to understand the effect of Beacons in retail and how they can benefit customers. Beacons refer to small sensors, which communicate with smartphones to show you instant promotions and locational information within retail stores. The work on low energy Bluetooth technology and are touted to become a major area of implementation of Internet of Things, especially in the retail industry.
